Beginning with the 2026–27 seasonal year, all US Youth Soccer organizations are shifting the national age‑group formation cycle to:
This replaces the long‑standing January 1 birth‑year cutoff and brings youth soccer in line with school‑grade cohorts. The change is the result of extensive review, data analysis, and feedback from clubs, coaches, and families across the country.
